Hemorrhoids, Anal Fissure, and Carcinoma of the Colon, Rectum, and Anus During Pregnancy

This paper is only available as a PDF. To read, Please Download here.
The management of benign and malignant conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus during pregnancy requires considerations of both the pregnant woman and the unborn fetus. Hemorrhoids and fissures can nearly always be managed nonoperatively. Colorectal and anal carcinomas are rare, and the timing of definitive treatment depends on the term of pregnancy. Generally, definitive surgical therapy is offered if the diagnosis is made early in the pregnancy and deferred until after parturition if made late in the pregnancy.
